I woke up on New Year's Day on the North Shore of Lake Superior. I love this beautiful, dangerous body of water. It's where I've woken most New Year's Days for the past decade. I knew this one would be different however.
I woke up New Year's Day, reached for paper and pen from the bedside, and wrote, "2018 IS MY YEAR"
I knew with complete certainty, that what I had just written, was true.
I wrote it, said it, and made it so. To top it off, I took a photo of the note and put it on Instagram, which can't hurt in the manifesting department.
I would start the new year by building on the changes and momentum I created in 2017.
In August of 2017, I got a Fitbit and began exercising EVERY day. (a first for me!) I also began working get eight hours of sleep each night. I eliminated processed foods and sugars from my diet. I quit drinking alcohol. I started caring for my gut health by taking probiotics, and eating probiotic foods. (kimchi, kefir, yogurt, kombucha!). I quit bringing my phone into the bedroom and took the apps off of my phone (including Facebook) that had been habitual forms of distraction.
As a result, my depression and anxiety have been all but nonexistent. I'm 25 pound lighter. My headaches are gone. I feel healthy, strong, and good about my body. As a parent and spouse, I feel like I can be my best self.
I'm telling you this because 2018 can be YOUR year too!
